Position: Design Engineer – NPD / Plastics Design Expert

We are looking for a highly motivated Design Engineer with specialized experience in plastic product and mold design for new product development (NPD). The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in injection, compression, and blow molding processes along with strong CAD skills and manufacturing exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and development of plastic products from concept to production.
- Drive NPD projects, ensuring innovation, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
- Design and develop molds for injection, compression, and blow molding processes.
- Perform reverse engineering to improve existing designs or develop new variants.
- Create 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings using tools such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, UG NX, CREO, and Inventor.
- Work across CAD modules including Solid Modeling, Sheet Metal, Assembly, Surfacing, and Drafting.
- Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and adhere to ANSI, ISO, and DFMEA standards.
- Collaborate with tooling teams and support tool and die making activities.
- Contribute to jig and fixture design for efficient manufacturing processes.
- Provide basic-level support in sheet metal and die casting design.
- Offer insights from shop floor experience to improve design and production alignment.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Proven expertise in plastic design and mold development.
- In-depth understanding of plastic molding processes and tooling.
- Solid background in manufacturing with shop floor experience.
- Strong reverse engineering capability.
- Practical knowledge of tool and die making.
- Exposure to sheet metal and die casting design is a plus.
- Familiarity with industrial design standards, DFMEA, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
- Innovative, self-driven, and a strong team player with good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and project collaboration skills.
