Position: Design Engineer – NPD / Sheet Metal Design Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer with deep expertise in sheet metal design and new product development (NPD). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with product conceptualization, reverse engineering, and design for manufacturability. A strong understanding of fabrication processes, tooling, and prototyping is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to innovative concept design and development of sheet metal products.
  • Execute and support end-to-end NPD projects with focus on manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
  • Create solid and surface models and generate manufacturing-ready drawings for sheet metal components.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of bending, forming, welding, and weldment drawings.
  • Engage in reverse engineering activities to improve or redesign existing products.
  • Use CAD tools proficiently: SolidWorks, Solid Edge, UG NX, CREO, Inventor, etc.
  • Work across modules including Sheet Metal, Solid Modeling, Assemblies, Surfacing, and Drafting.
  • Interpret and apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and standards such as ANSI, ISO, and DFMEA.
  • Provide inputs for tool and die design, and collaborate with tool rooms and manufacturing teams.
  • Contribute to plastic mold and die casting concept development (basic level).
  • Support jigs and fixture design for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Collaborate with prototyping teams and handle 3D printed parts for testing and validation.
