Mechanical Design Engineer (Multiple Openings)

Location: Morrisville, NC

Technosoft Engineering, Inc., headquartered in Morrisville, NC, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer (Multiple Openings) responsible for providing project/product assessments via Agile methodology.

Specific duties include:
(i) Evaluating, researching and designing customer specific mechanical products, equipment, systems, their sub-systems and equipment, plastic, casting & sheet metal manufacturing parts using 3D/2D modelling software;
(ii) Developing and/or testing models of alternate designs, processing methods using industrial engineering standards;
(iii) Conducting research to test, evaluate and analyze the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanical equipment, components, or systems;
(iv) Identifying and selecting proper measuring instruments for specific applications and recommending engineering modifications to eliminate design issues;
(v) Evaluating mechanical designs of prototypes, Proofs of Concept and testing models;
(vi) Investigating mechanical systems and sub-system unit failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommending remedial actions; and
(vii) Rreading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports & application of GD&T as per design principles.

This position is for a roving employee who will work in unanticipated locations throughout the United States. The employee will have to relocate, but travel is not required from any particular location.

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Tool and Die Making Engineering.

Must know (from any completed university-level courses, seminars, workshops, or real-world hands-on experience): 2D/3D modeling software; GD&T; industrial engineering standards; plastic and casting manufacturing parts; sheet metal design; and design principles (including engineering calculations, mechanical fundamentals, and manufacturing detailing standards). Relocation required.
